Pageantry at IU, the student organization that annually produces the Miss Indiana University pageant, is hard at work finalizing details of this year’s scholarship pageant. Thanks to the generous support of the IUSA Funding Board, all of this year’s pageant-related events will take place at the lndiana Memorial Union.
All female IU-Bloomington students who meet Miss America requirements are eligible to compete for a share of over $3,500 in scholarships and prizes.
Those interested in competing must submit their completed paperwork to Executive Director Teresa White by Monday, Feb. 9, 2015. Also, contestants must complete their fundraising for Children’s Miracle Network, Miss America’s national philanthropy, by Friday, Feb. 15. To download contestant paperwork and to read contestant requirements, please visit our Requirements & Forms page.
Pageantry at IU’s Success Committee has planned two pre-pageant workshops to help contestants prepare. Both workshops will take place in the IMU. The first on Sunday, Jan. 25 from noon-3:30 in the Redbud room, and the second will be Sunday, Feb. 8, also starting at noon.
The workshops are free and open to IU students who are interested in or currently competing in any pageant circuit. Workshop sessions will include tips on interviewing, make-up, talent selections and wardrobe, walking/modeling practice, plus a Q & A session with the director, former contestants and titleholders. Those who participate in a workshop are not obligated to compete. However, so the Success Committee can better prepare, they encourage those attending to register via email at least one-day prior to each workshop. To register please email email@example.com.
