The Miss Indiana University Student Organization officers and committees are busy planning this year’s pageant, which will take place Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014. All female IU-Bloomington students who meet Miss America requirements are eligible to compete for over $3,500 in scholarships and prizes.
Those interested in competing must submit their completed paperwork to Executive Director Teresa White by 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14. Also, contestants must have completed their fundraising for Children’s Miracle Network, Miss America’s national philanthropy, by that time. The Miss IU Organization’s Success Committee has planned two pre-pageant workshops to assist contestants in preparing for Feb. 23. Both workshops will take place in the IMU from 2-5 p.m., the first on Sunday, Jan. 26 in the Maple Room and the second on Sunday, Feb. 9 in the Sassafras Room. The workshops are free and open to IU students who are interested in or currently competing in any pageant circuit. Workshop sessions will include tips on interviewing, make-up and wardrobe, walking/modeling, plus offer a Q & A session with the director and former titleholders. Those who participate in a workshop are not obligated to compete. However, so the Success Committee can better prepare, they request those attending to register via email at least one-day prior to each workshop. To register please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
